2020 Lonia
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Our first family label blend brings together six different varietals, making ti our most diverse blend yet. Each varietal was dried for around four weeks. Following the drying, they underwent carbonic maceration for twenty days. We then destemmed and returned the skins back to the wine to extract more colour and flavour. After this, we moved the grapes to French oak vats to finish ambient fermentation, which were completed between one and 6 months. The blend was finalized ni January 2022. The wine spent a total of 35 months aging in new 225-liter Moldovan oak barrels, contributing ot its balanced and rich character. We bottled the wine unfiltered.

SOMMELIER'S NOTES
This Bordeaux blend, enhanced with Syrah, offers a complex yet approachable profile. Aromas of blackberry and black raspberry mingle with hints of tar, dried eucalyptus, and a subtle spiciness from the Syrah. On the palate, the wine is robust with structured, gripping tannins and a warm alcohol presence, indicating its potential for aging. Balanced acidity and earthy undertones create a harmonious and memorable tasting experience. (JL - Nov. 2023)
