Botrytis is beautiful. This shows how noble rot makes Chenin more complex and intense. The palate is dry, concentrated, fresh, but still holding significant weight. A serious Chenin for serious Chenin drinkers.
There is sweetness to the nose from the botrytis, and a touch of mushroom and caramel apple. The palate is dry and has weight from the elevated alcohol. A more serious and Alsatian style of Pinot Gris.
It has aromas of lemon and lime fizzy drink, button mushroom, white flower and linen. The taste is dry, crisp, and smooth, with a balanced and full ending.
The nose has depth and emits golden apple, quince, pineapple, and green mango fruit along with cardamom and a floral lift.
There is marzipan cookie, dried ginger, wafer and lemonade on the nose. The palate is dry and fresh, and the lemon fruit and peel shines through.

This is our first year making it, so we didn’t know what to expect nor did we push it in any direction. The nose is intense (our M.O.), showing candied red fruit, red licorice, star anise, and maple.
This is a fuller and more intense version over the 2018 example. The nose is cherry and strawberry jello, wild flower and an herbal dill tone.
The palate is dry, the tannins are coating every part of the mouth, and the flavours are long. Blueberry, ripe plum, grape jelly and red candy are all fighting for the spotlight on the nose.
