Winemaker’s Notes: This was a very hot vintage. We decided to dry all the grapes for this wine, and they spent 2 months dehydrating. We weren’t sure what to do with this wine, so it spent 32 months in a combination of French and Moldovan oak barrels.
Sommelier's Notes: The nose has layers of ripe, even stewed, red and blue fruit with baking spice aromas of vanilla, cardamom and clove. The palate is dry, yet slightly juice from the ripeness of the fruit and the tannins, but the flavours are concentrated and intense. Black cherry, black raspberry liqueur and a sweet dark rum finish. This is a pleasing wine. Have this with red meat and firm cheese.
